A Witch Hat Atelier fanzine
Songs of Fate and Freedom is an upcoming zine project centered around Witch Hat Atelier's Custas and Dagda. The zine is a compilation of a year of fanart including sketches, full illustrations and comics; exploring different art styles, and developing untold parts of the life of these characters, with a focus on more peaceful, mundane moments.
Disclaimer: The works compiled were mostly made during the year 2021 and as such, might not be up to date with the latest published chapters!
What will the zine contain?
While new content is still being added, the zine currently sports 15 pages of illustration, 5 pages of exclusive comics and 10 sketchbook pages, as well as detailed captions explaining further the ideas and process behind the works.
The final product should be around 40 to 50 pages.How will the zine be released?
The zine will be available to purchase as a PDF on my itch.io for a low base price.An additional physical release will contain a book, and two optional prints. Stretch goals are being considered for a fancy foil cover!Who will be the contributors?
This is a solo project. All the art and formatting have been done by me. The zine will not be accepting applications for artists. Applications for a shipping/finance mod will be considered if there is demand for a physical release - mod who will, of course, be compensated for their work!

A compilation of artwork related to a media property, created by fans, and distributed under independent printing. In the case of this zine, I am the sole artist, and the contents will be illustrations and fancomics.How much will the zine cost?
I want to sell the digital PDF for under 5 euros.If any, a physical edition will be more expensive, to account for the cost of printing and shipping. Our current goal is for 15 euros for the book, and 10 euros for twin prints. Shipping costs will depend on the buyer's country of residence (I am based in the EU)I would love to apply for art, how can I help?

A poor approximation of the Author
I fell in love with Witch Hat Atelier in 2021, after a dear friend showed me the series, recommending it for it's gorgeous artwork. Immediatly, the world drew me in, and soon I had read the first eight volumes and was drawing my favorite characters. The first one to win my heart was Custas, for his unique energy and strength, and I was bewildered to find little fanart existed online for him and his old man. But I draw fast, and a lot, and a few months later, I decided to compile the piles of art I had of the pair into a single zine.I like to draw calm, lively moments, snippets of life shared between characters. I enjoy historical artwork and take great inspiration from emulating different art styles from artists throughout the ages and all around the world, changing how I draw with each new piece.In Songs, I am sharing my love for these two characters, their unique, complex relationship, which prompted me to draw so much.
